My Story
David Travis was born in New York and raised in the scenic landscapes of western Massachusetts. After graduating from high school, he made the courageous decision to join the Navy, where he served aboard a ship and completed three deployments to the Mediterranean.
His military experience instilled in him a sense of discipline and adventure that would shape his future endeavors.
After leaving the Navy, David explored various career paths before finding his calling as a truck driver. This role allowed him to travel extensively across the country, experiencing the diverse cultures and landscapes of America.
In May 2008, David ventured into the literary world with the self-publication of his first book, Life, Love and Poetry. This collection reflected his personal experiences and emotions, resonating with readers and establishing him as a budding poet. Building on this success, he released his second work, Beyond the Horizon: Poems of Triumph, Hope, and Personal Growth, in February 2024. This book further showcases his growth as a writer and his ability to inspire others through his words.
In recognition of his contributions to literature, David was honored with the Shining Star Award in June 2024, a testament to his talent and dedication.
Currently residing in the Philippines, David is immersed in his next project, continuing to explore the depths of human experience through poetry and storytelling. His journey reflects resilience, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to personal growth.
